No! The Lunch Lady is Not Doing Surgery in the Cafeteria.

Foreword: I sat on this article for a couple of weeks before I finally hit the publish button. Beware, I used some visually graphic descriptions, but they were needed to portray the dangerous accusations. The image I chose is also graphic, yet tongue-in-cheek. I chose this tone due to the ridiculousness of this political claim, aka a diversion. The transgender population, a small group of young people (and adults), is being targeted in our politics as part of a conservative strategy in an effort to reshape public discourse and restrict their legal rights.

Dear Ms. Liberty, 

Last month, the current occupant of the Oval Office and his Education Secretary used a White House back-to-school celebration to spread lies about transgender students, education, and vaccines. Schoolchildren made up half of the Rose Garden audience, according to the press pool report. 

The Education Secretary lied that the Biden administration allowed schools to secretly transition with radical experiments on students without the parents' knowledge. According to her, the current occupant of the Oval Office and the DOJ are dedicated to ensuring no transition happens in the "woke" school districts under their watch. (We've seen this before: this admin makes stuff up that never happened and later boasts that they stopped it.) 

Listening to her as she spoke into a microphone, I swear my chin dropped to the floor. I cannot believe anyone is still spewing this dangerous slop, but then again, I've heard street interviews conducted by the media like The Good Liars or Jordan Klepper from The Daily Show, and they seem to sleuth out the crazy. Perhaps the tip-off is the MAGA wardrobe. 

If you really believe that "radical experiments" are happening in our public schools, then you're lacking in critical thinking and the ability to judge situations. Think about it: have we ever heard about any lawsuits against the public schools where children left home in the morning as a male and came home as a female? No. 

Have you ever thought about the liability and medical procedures regarding messing with children's genitalia, such as amputation or suturing? These medical procedures aren't like a quick two sutures because you accidentally cut yourself with a piece of broken glass.  According to medical sources, remodeling genitalia requires 3-10 days of recovery time in the hospital. This means the patient is hooked up to a urinary catheter for about 7 to 10 days. And where do the students recover? Down in the boiler room? In the locker room? On the lunch counter? There's also breast surgery on a child going through puberty, either building or removing a bustline. 

Who pays for these so-called transitions and medical equipment? Not to mention the years of therapy? Who buys the antibiotics and pain meds? Teachers can barely afford to keep school supplies in their classrooms, and you think they're buying medicine and urinary catheters? 

As it is, public schools cannot give a child aspirin without explicit written parental permission and/or a signed medical order from a licensed healthcare provider. Wouldn't a parent question the urinary catheter when their child came home from school? 

At most, and thank goodness, public school counselors generally are available to visit with students about gender identity and related concerns. This may also vary, depending on staff availability, district policies, and state laws. 

This is strictly my opinion, as I have no proof, but I have to wonder whether such an egregious lie came from some private schools to increase their income. Not this specific lie, but I have read and zoomed in on a few local school board meetings and listened to a few mothers (one an employee from a religious private school) who have made unfounded accusations about the school board, along with their focus on banning books. 

And while we're at it, there's that dumbass thing about kids using litter boxes in "woke" schools because some students identify as cats, aka "furries." Every time some red-capped goober brings that up in a street interview, whether it's to The Good Liars or Jordan Klepper, when asked if the dumbass has ever seen the litter boxes, no, they have not, but they heard it from a "reliable source," such as their "son-in-law's aunt's cousin whose housekeeper's boyfriend's sister's kid" saw the litter boxes. 

It's a hoax; it is an urban legend. It is not happening, as it would violate multiple strict public health, food, and environmental codes from local and state health departments, food safety regulations, and municipal sewer systems. Public schools are required by law to have proper, approved sewage and plumbing systems to operate a school kitchen and participate in federal food programs.

Some have suggested this urban legend may have come from the idea that some teachers keep an emergency kit in the classroom coat closet to be used in the event of a school shooting. The kit includes a bucket containing kitty litter to relieve little bladders during a horrific event. 

But most importantly, this is an example of how the MAGA party has made a small group of young people and adults (less than 3% globally) out to be the "boogeymen." As it is, trans kids, and even those who question their identity, experience hardships, especially in school. There is often bullying, and according to studies, they experience more than double the rate of their cisgender peers.

Politicians, church leaders, and their allies claim laws and policies regarding trans children and adults are made to "protect women," especially in sports. We know that is a bunch of crap... An excuse. If these groups were really interested in protecting women, they would bring back the rights for women to decide their own healthcare needs. 

Being a kid is tough enough (especially going through puberty) without a bunch of fanatic and obsessive adults focusing on what is in their underpants.
