The Absurd Before the Weekend: Sipping Coffee

In the mornings, while sipping coffee, reading, and writing emails, lists, and notes, I might turn on the news. I only watch Wolf Blitzer, and if I can get through that, I might move on to Dana Bash. I love that Dana won't give in to those MAGA mainsplainers and those who try to talk over her (like Mike Lawler, Rep. NY, and many other of his MAGA Congress pals)

Then, when I feel mentally exhausted, I turn on Pandora for music. And here is what Friday morning brought to me.
A sweet little voice came across the television waves as he told about his escape to safety during the shooting at his school in Bend, Oregon. That little voice should be talking about the book his teacher read to him, how he caught the softball, and the dessert he had for lunch - not gun violence. Then come the same old bullshit excuses from the adults who were not there.
A political commercial pops up with a dumbass politician from Eastern Washington claiming he is here to remove the fraud that used taxpayers' dollars. Yet, he is really proud that the current occupant of the Oval supports him, and he supports the current Oval. Well, perhaps this politician hasn't been paying attention because inside the Oval is the largest nest of fraud that US history has ever seen. (Oh, and did you know there is a "B" in dumbass? Apparently that "B" is new to the occupant of the Oval.)
The visual of four men holding down a woman by her wrists and ankles, pulling her hair, and punching her in the face and chest for wearing a sweatshirt they didn't like (Release the Epstein Files) is vile. The message contained nothing negative. I heard the current occupant of the Oval Office claim on his first day that he would be "Releasing the Epstein files." Then again, the occupant of the Oval Office was cheering on the beating and calling the woman fat.
And this is America, folks. Land of the free and home of the brave, unless you are: a person of color, female, born in another country but became a US citizen, belong to the LGBTQ+ community, and believe in all of the amendments of the Constitution (because the only one honored is the Second)

Oh gawd, I am exhausted. Aren't you?
