Who Says Democrat Men Aren't "Manly?"

In March 2022, during a Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-KY) asked the nominee, "What is a woman?"

Now, I have to ask, "What is a manly man?" I am asking this as the right-wing media and MAGA politicians are thumping their chests, talking about how their Democrat opponents are not "manly men."

So, what is a "manly man?" As MAGA politicians make reference to the Democrats not having "manly men," what exactly is a manly man? Is it a half-naked caveman wearing animal fur around his waist to hide his junk, holding a belly club, and dragging a woman by the hair back to the kitchen?  Is MAGA Russ a manly man for beating a 29-year-old woman at a Trump rally because he didn't like the message on her sweatshirt? He is the farthest thing from a "manly man." He is a weak bully.
Senator Rafael E. Cruz of Texas throws shade at a Democrat in the Senate race, claiming he's a "soy boy" and assuming that because he styles his hair, he isn't a manly man like they supposedly grow in Texas. You know... Manly, like Cruz, who tried to sneak out of the country when his state was in trouble due to a disaster. You know, a manly man like Cruz who now kisses the butt of a man (figuratively) who called his wife "ugly." And that man, the current occupant of the Oval Office, whose butt Rafael kisses (maybe literally), is only as rough as his language, and then again, most of his adult life he has walked around with bodyguards to protect him.

As I look at the Democrats who have stepped up and are either in or running for public office, or even on social media, they look pretty "manly" to me.

Senator/Astronaut Mark Kelly, Governor Gavin Newsom, former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Senator Jon Ossoff, former news hosts Don Lemon, and Jim Acosta. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed has some pretty fit-looking "guns" and could do more chin-ups than so-called "Manly man, Low-T Hegseth." But here's the thing: Dr. El-Sayed has served the public for many years in state, county, and city public health. He wants to provide medical, educational, and food programs for children. He wants to protect equal rights  - for everyone, which is a very "manly-man" thing to do.

What I look for in a "manly man?" It's not all about looks and appeal, but about a man's values. A man who is kind, loves kitties and puppies, and is well-read. He believes in medical care, education, and food programs for those in need; believes in equal rights; and gets extra points if he understands the importance of our U.S. Constitution (beyond the Second). He's especially swoon-worthy if he can quote at least some of the Constitution and explain it with big legal words (Hello, Rick Wilson and George T. Conway III, founders of The Lincoln Project). A sense of humor is also important, especially if they can laugh at themselves.

So, what is your idea of a "manly man?"
